The Toowoomba Sub-Regional Transport Strategy is a multi-stage project to develop an integrated, multi-modal strategy for the Toowoomba region, an area experiencing high levels of population growth and growth in mining activities. Peter led the team that did the modelling for the first stage of this project (the second stage will begin in 2013). TransPosition’s 4S model was used to prepare estimates of likely impacts on transport systems due to the regional growth. Various transport infrastructure projects were evaluated using the model which included not only Toowoomba, but a simplified representation of the whole state of Queensland.
