Integrated Regional Transport Plan

Queensland Transport

1995 - 1996

Principal Analyst, Planner, Modeller

The IRTP has been developed by Queensland Transport to address the transport needs of South East Queensland into the next century. Peter was involved in its development from the early stages, where he provided data on current travel and land use patterns. A simplified version of ITFEM was developed to test mode choice targets– the Strategic Integrated Mode Choice Assessment Tool (SIMCAT). The SIMCAT took a cut-down version of the relationships and data in the full ITFEM model for Brisbane, and put them into a spreadsheet. This enabled the user to enter any strategic option very simply, and immediately predict its effect on mode choice and car use.
