The Brisbane Urban Growth (BUG) model is a tool for forecasting population and employment for Brisbane at the Lot level. Peter has taken a model structure previously applied to the Gold Coast and Caboolture and developed a Brisbane version. As part of the development, Peter has streamlined the data processing and simplified the implementation. This now means that planners can simply and quickly test various planning scenarios. Peter is now working on enhancements to the model, particularly in improving the mechanisms for transport/land use interaction.
